Puppy Party | Woopy’s 2nd Birthday | Recipes for Dogs

Happy birthday to my cute baby Woopy!

Last Monday, Woopy turned 2! I literally cannot believe she is all grown up and an adult dog from the little ‘scrappy-woo’ (affectionately named) that we first brought home. To me, she is still a baby puppy though, especially with all the cute things she does. It’s because she’s so special to me, I choose to celebrate her birthday. We celebrated with her actual party on Saturday night; on Monday she was a bit spoilt too with lovely walks and a nice dinner!

What a brilliant fun party she had! Her good friend (cousin) Teddy came to play and they had a blast together playing all night! We had a BBQ and cooked them some sausages so they didn’t miss out on the goodies. There were party decorations and this year I even decided to make pupcakes for the furbabies too!

Pupcake Recipe (Makes 12 pupcakes)

  •  1 cup plain flour
  • 1/3 cup porridge oats
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter
  • 1 banana
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the icing

  • 300g plain cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • Dog treats to decorate

    How to…

Mix all the ingredients for the cake in a bowl until combined. Bake for around 15 minutes or until golden and a knife comes out clean when inserted in the middle. Allow to cool before icing. Whip together the cream cheese and peanut butter and spread on top of the cakes. Add a little treat for decoration.

NOTE: Please make sure you only feed your dogs these as a special treat and definitely not regularly. All the ingredients can be consumed by dogs but only as a treat. Be careful about what peanut butter you buy as some additives can be dangerous for dogs. I used Meridian Smooth Peanut Butter which is just pure peanuts.

I absolutely loved celebrating Woopy’s birthday and highly recommend doing it! I’m sure she knows it was her day, she definitely knew the presents were all hers. I got a few things for her party guest Teddy too, so he didn’t feel left out, and made him a little party bag.

Thanks for reading about Woopy’s birthday party, she had a great time! If you missed the first blog post on Woopy’s birthday, you can read it here – its all about how and where we got Woopy and why we celebrate her birthday!
