Welcome to day 4 of Blogmas! I hope you’re enjoying it!
I’ve been dying to put up my Christmas tree since I first needed my heating on back in September! It’s a tradition every year to put it up as close to the first of December as possible; this year we put it up on Sunday 3rd December as we’d had a busy weekend!
We always put on classic Christmas tunes like Last Christmas and Jingle Bell Rock, crack open a bottle of Sherry and mince pies and spend a good few hours making our home a cosy Christmas grotto. It always takes ages as I’m very particular about where everything goes, and we end up reminiscing as we hang our baubles. Our baubles are a mixture of ones given to us by my parents, and ones we have collected from places we’ve visited in the past including York, Florida and Finland. We like quite a traditional Christmas tree and try buy a decoration that goes with the red, gold and rustic theme every time we visit somewhere new.
The bit I hate the most is the fairy lights. No matter how neatly they get stored, they always seem to end up a tangled mess! And the last two years the lights have blown on two different trees on Christmas day so I’m praying that doesn’t happen this year! Here’s a look at the rest of our room…
And a closer look at our decorations…
I love how cosy it feels now, especially since we redecorated too!
