Welcome to Blogmas Day 8!
The weather is expecting to bring a winters chill this weekend so it’s the perfect time to get cosy at home!
One thing I always have time for when it’s Christmas is an evening with a hot chocolate by the fire and a great Christmas film! I love slipping on my pyjamas and snuggling under a blanket with the pup and my husband after a bleak day.
Here’s my favourite ones to watch, what’s yours?
- The Polar Express
I find this a really magical Christmas film that I love watching time and time again. Between the voice of Tom Hanks and the enchanting music, you really do get that warm Christmassy feeling.
- The Holiday
This again leaves me feeling warm and cosy, and makes me want to sing The Killers with a bottle of wine in my pyjamas. But joking aside, I love the way the characters all work through their own troubles and find love for Christmas.
- Home Alone
A classic Christmas comedy that I’m sure you’ll have seen! I cannot go a Christmas without hearing, “keep the change you filthy animal!” It doesn’t matter how many times you watch this; it’s always hilarious!
- A Muppets Christmas Carol
The Muppets take on the Dickens Christmas classic; Scrooge is visited by three Spirits before Christmas in a bid to change his ways. Of course the story is narrated by Rizzo and Gonzo who bring humour throughout, with catchy music you can’t help but sing along with.
- Miracle on 34th Street
Finally, another old one; Mr Kringle begins working in a department store as Santa. Between his kind demeanour and caring attitude to children, is he the real Santa? That’s what he must prove, with the help of a sceptical six year old and lawyer Mr Bedford.
So they’re my favourites! Of course there’s hundreds more that I watch every year which help give that magical Christmas feeling!
It just so happens it’s snowing outside as I write this blog post, so I’m going to drink the hot chocolate now and pop one on!
What’s your favourite?
