I absolutely loved having a beauty advent calendar last year! It was a bit different for me as I’ve never had one before; it’s quite exciting having something completely different each day. I also loved the style of it, opening a little house each day rather than the usual door. It means I can also refill it if I wanted which is what I intend to do this year!
Every day revealed a beauty product either made by Marks & Spencer’s or a brand they sell, and on day 25, there was a cute makeup bag to keep your essentials in. The beauty products included makeup, skincare and skin treatments, and a beauty blender. I won’t list them all but I did like all the products when I tried them.
Now that I’m in the new year and I’ve had a chance to give all the products a go, I decided I wanted to share with you my five favourites which I would consider buying in the future.
Nuxe Prodigieux Precious Scented Shower Oil, £10.50 for 200ml
I really love this shower oil! It leaves your skin feeling incredibly soft and the scent is sensational. It definitely evokes dreamy thoughts of being on holiday with it’s soft yet elegant scent. It also leaves a subtle shimmer on your skin which I think will be great in summer on tanned skin. It’s definitely something I would love to take on holiday.
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick, shade Perla, £16 for 3ml
I’ve recently really got into liquid lipsticks as I find they stay on well and have the same appearance as a lipstick, yet they’re really hydrating so your lips never feel dry. So I was really delighted to find this little lipstick in my advent! It stays moist on your lips and the shade is gorgeous! It’s the perfect colour between being nude and pink.
Rosie for Autograph Amazing Radiance Body Glow, £12.50 for 200ml
Creates by Rosie Huntington-Whitely, this body lotion has a similar shimmering effect to your skin as the shower oil so the two compliment each other beautifully. Also with a very indulgent feminine scent, the lotion has a subtle tint to it to give you a lightly bronzed glow. This was great to use over Christmas with so many parties and I look forward to using it in summer to get my skin looking healthy and glowing!
Pur Illuminate and Glow Primer, £24 for 30ml
I’m all about getting radiant glowy skin at the moment and this primer helps do just that! The primer helps to brighten your complexion giving you more radiant and less tired skin. It also makes your skin incredibly smooth before you apply the rest of your makeup.
Diego Dalla Palma Ciglione Lash Booster Mascara,£17.50 for 10ml
This mascara was pretty great to be honest, and the fact that it’s a full size was a huge bonus! It has an unusual brush which is like three spheres of bristles, but they seem to catch all of the lashes and really boost their volume! You only really need to coat your lashes once with this too to get a rich black colour!
I also really liked the Nails Inc nail polish as it stayed on well without chipping so I would definitely consider buying nail polish from them. As a bonus product, I would also consider buying the beauty blender which came in the calendar; the brand Look Good Feel Better which make the sponge provide support for women and teenagers dealing with the side effects of cancer treatment. The sponge is £7.50.
So that’s all of my favourites! I hope you enjoyed this post and like the sound of the products. If you have used any of these products before, or had the calendar, I’d love to hear from you!
