Lifestyle | Our Day Out at Erddig

Yesterday was the first day off we’ve had where the weather actually feels warm! We decided to make the most of this and head out to Erddig in North Wales for a good walk around the countryside estate with Woopy.

Erddig is a property which is part of the National Trust, and you can pay a small fee to go into the gardens and the house. If you’re taking the dog it’s free entry as dogs are only allowed in the courtyard where the cafe is, or around the estate in the countryside and woodland walks.

After croissants and coffee for breakfast, we packed a picnic in the morning, as well as Woopys bag, and arrived at Erddig around half 1. Picking up a map at reception, we headed along the red trail which would take us through woodland, along the stream and through the fields, so Woopy had lots of places to smell.

We saw the house as soon as we rounded the first corner, with views across the immaculate lawns and ponds. The weather really picked up and half we round we were able to sit on a grass hill looking out across Wales for our picnic in the sun.

There were so many sheep around the estate, with lots of lambs running around with each other, or drinking from their mums.

We reached the end of the trail around 4pm, so sat in the courtyard for some ice cream in the sun.

It was a lovely day, and we will be heading back again without Woopy so we can take a look inside the house.

What did you do this weekend?
